NOTE TO EDITORS -
WORK WISE WEEK (3 – 9 May 2006)
An initiative which aims to make the UK the most progressive economy in the world will be launched on Wednesday 3 May at the QE2 Conference Centre, Westminster.
Work Wise Week marks the start of Work Wise UK, a three-year initiative with broad support from government, business and the unions. It will encourage the widespread adoption of smarter working practices, such as flexible working, remote working, mobile working and working from home. This modern day approach to working lives will increase business productivity and competitiveness, reduce transport congestion and pollution, improve health, assist disadvantaged groups, and harmonise work and family commitments.
Work Wise Week is a series of themed days, starting with a day-long summit at the QE2 Conference Centre, Westminster, focusing on the benefits of smarter working.
There will be various national and regional media opportunities throughout the week themed as follows:

| Saturday 6 May | Preview of the business benefits on working smarter. |
