MEDIA INVITATION
The media are invited to attend an environmental briefing at the Met Office, Exeter, at 12noon this Friday, May 16.
Jeff Ridley, climate scientist for the Met Office, will be joined by Jim McClelland, editor of Sustain Magazine, Michael Dunn, regional manager for BT, and Russell Toms, director of Work Wise UK. They will discuss the impact of working practices on the environment, and how the wider adoption of smarter working practices could be part of the long term solution to mankind’s environmental impact.
The briefing is part of the environment focus day, the second day of Work Wise Week, which starts on Thursday with National Work from Home Day.
Work Wise UK is a not-for-profit initiative to promote smarter working practices such as home working, flexible working (including condensed hours and nine-day fortnights), mobile and remote working. Work Wise partners include the CBI, TUC and British Chambers of Commerce.
The Met Office is at the Hadley Centre, Met Office, Fitzroy Road, Exeter EX1 3PB, and the briefing is being hosted in Conference Room 2. Journalists wishing to attend should contact Katie Daniels (details below).
