Chief Executive
David
was appointed to SIS as Chief Executive in 1999, having spent
20 years in the television industry at Yorkshire Television.
He
originally joined Yorkshire TV, in 1978, to implement a costing
system for television programme production. He progressed to become
Finance Director and, from there to Managing Director of Programmes,
doubling turnover and profits in two years running the production
operation. He worked closely with both Paul Fox and John Fairley
at Yorkshire and left ten months after the Granada takeover.
Before
his television career he spent six years with the Yorkshire Copper
Works where he trained as a management accountant. His early accountancy
skills were honed at Rank HiFi - Wharfedale Loudspeakers.
David's
roots are firmly in Yorkshire, where he went to school and still
lives with his wife and four children. He is a regular attender
at all forms of sport, including horseracing, and is a keen Leeds
United supporter.
