Sally McEnhill is currently
Principal of Merton College, a post to which she was appointed
in August 1999.
Before moving to Merton (which is in Greater London), Sally
had spent 20 years working in various roles in the Inner
London Education Authority, transferring to work for the
London Borough of Lambeth in 1991 and then to Lambeth College
in 1992.
She also gained experience as an advisory teacher in Numeracy,
and is an author of a Numeracy text book. Sally subsequently
transferred into Human Resources and Staff Development
and from that role at Vauxhall College she went on to become
Director of Human Resources at the newly-formed Lambeth
College.
Sally kept up her experience in the delivery and design
of the curriculum and became a part-time inspector for FEFC
in Basic Skills, ESOL and LDD and an accredited advisor for
Investors in People.
In 1998 she moved to Merton College, initially as Deputy
Principal and in her first year as Principal she took the
College through a merger with a neighboring college and a
full inspection. She has provided insights into the Further
Education sector for publications including the Times Education
Supplement and The Guardian’s Education pages.
Sally is taking a leading role in the College’s ambitious
redevelopment project alongside Colin
Henderson,
the College’s Vice Principal for Resources. External and
media relations for the project are being managed by Chelgate and
Tony Pope, the College’s Head of Marketing.
