Press briefing

"We were privileged as a committee to be asked to pass judgment on such a large number of outstanding entries. I'm sure that Gustafson Porter is the right choice to create an appropriate memorial to Diana." announced Rosa Monckton, Chairman of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain Committee, today.

"We are delighted and honoured to have been given the opportunity to design and build a memorial to such a well loved public figure. Our concept aims to be inclusive and receive all those people who come upon it. It embodies the excitement of children playing and provides a space to ride the waves of a diverse world. " said Neil Porter of Gustafson Porter.

The team is led by Kathryn Gustafson, the visionary landscape artist and architect and Neil Porter, the talented British architect and designer. They are joined by Ove Arup who will provide an integrated team with specialist advice in all areas of the project.

Ten design teams were invited to present to the Memorial Fountain Committee. They were all very impressive. The Gustafson Porter team combined the necessary technical proficiency with an ability to reflect the Vision of the Committee.
