POWER ASSISTED SALES FOR CONFIGURE DOOR OPENERS
All over the country, doors are opening more easily for disabled people.
Configure, the UK’s leading commercial disability access consultancy, has seen an exponential rise in the sales of its power assisted door systems, following the products’ launch in April.
50 per cent of sales have been in the last month alone (October), as companies like Travelodge and the Co-op have responded to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
Configure has been able to keep the price of its door openers low – at almost half the price of competitor manufacturers’ – by sourcing its own production of the systems.
These low energy pneumatic opening systems can be fitted to a door to replace existing sprung closers. They are easy to install and can be set to open more than one door at a time.
The power assisted door can be operated by a light touch pad switch or a number of other opening devices, which greatly improves access for people with mobility impairments. Doors can also be opened manually without using the push switch.
The systems can be linked to a fire alarm and are integrated with an electronic door lock. They may also be fitted with a battery back-up system for use in the event of a power cut.
Configure (www.configure.co.uk) offers a comprehensive range of cost effective and easy to implement services that include access audits, auxiliary aids, building adjustments and staff disability equality training.
