MAYER JOINS CONFIGURE FROM DURRANTS
Charles Mayer has been appointed by Configure, the UK’s largest commercial disability access consultancy, as sales director.
He will be responsible for the national sales of Configure’s comprehensive products and services. These include access audits, auxiliary aids, building modifications and disability equality training to help businesses meet their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
Charles developed his flair for sales and customer relationship management as sales and marketing director for Durrants Media Monitoring. He contributed to the re-branding and repositioning of Clipserver.com, successfully taking it to the AIM market before it was acquired by Durrants.
Previously, he worked as district sales surveyor for Rentokil Initial PLC where he was responsible for negotiating the Millennium Dome contract. His hobbies include football and skydiving.
David Driver, Configure’s joint managing director, said: “We are very excited at the prospect of working with Charles. His skills and obvious enthusiasm will no doubt ensure that Configure remains the market leader, and continues to dominate the competition.”
Configure is unique in that it provides an integrated solution to businesses making adjustments to provide access to all. The DDA is a civil act, so does not provide specific regulations but awaits the results of test cases currently going through the courts. The challenge to companies is to stay abreast of these results, as they define the parameters of the Act and the consequent demands on businesses.
