OPENING DOORS AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON

Configure, the UK’s leading commercial disability access consultancy, has launched a range of power assisted door systems to enable customers to make adjustments in response to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The firm looked at various manufacturers to supply this product, but decided to source its own production. The resulting range is approaching half the price of that of competitor manufacturers.

The low energy pneumatic opening system can be fitted to a door to replace existing sprung manual closers. It is easy to install and can be fitted to open more than one door at a time.

The power assisted door system is operated by a light touch pad switch, which greatly improves access for people with mobility impairments. Doors can also be opened manually without using the push switch.

The system can be fitted to open or close in the event of a fire alarm and is integrated with an electronic door lock. It may also be fitted with a battery back-up system for use in the event of a power cut.

Configure (www.configure.co.uk) offers a comprehensive range of cost effective and easy to implement services that include access audits, auxiliary aids, building adjustments and staff disability equality training.
