DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION ACT TEST CASES

David Driver, a solicitor specialising in the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), will be available for comment on the rulings on the various test cases currently coming through the courts.

He is also legal director of Configure, the UK’s leading commercial disability access consultancy.

David has 10 years’ experience in project construction law and building risk management. He is also one of Configure’s most experienced field auditors, and has conducted access audits of some of the most complex and diverse sites, including Southampton Football Club, The Canadian High Commission and Nottingham East Midlands International Airport.

A regular speaker at conferences and seminars, David has appeared on an expert panel for the Leisure Industry Week at the NEC comprised of members of the Disability Rights Commission and Central Government representatives.

In 2004, David delivered over 50 days training covering all aspects of the DDA, and the broader issues of equality, accessibility, and access auditing. This included accessible design courses for Lancashire County Council’s architects and building surveyors, and equality and DDA training of staff within Unison, Wembley National Stadium Limited, NHS Hospital Trusts, the Association of Exhibition Organisers, and the British Shops and Stores Association.
